POLITICAL MARKETING

Last Sunday we had general elections in Spain so we were asked to analyse three posters from the presented political parties. These are mines:

Resultado de imagen de eh bildu erabakiResultado de imagen de ciudadanos poster electoral 2019Resultado de imagen de podemos poster la historia la escribes tu

VAMOS CIUDADANOS
This slogan is from the party Ciudadanos, a right-wing party.
We can see the leader, Albert Rivera, on the poster with Spanish flags as background.
It is genious because the phrase has two meanings. For one hand, they are telling the citizens they have power and they encourage them to vote, progress and improve. And for the other hand, as their own name is Ciudadanos (meaning 'citizens') they are doing the publicity of their own party.
I don't think it is very effective because you don't know whom are talking to, I feel confuse about it because one more time, they are giving more importance to their party than to the people they want to vote them. It is not needed the second meaning.

LA HISTORIA LA ESCRIBES TÚ
This slogan is from the left-wing party Unidas Podemos.
We see some young people in the poster raising their hand and smiling behind the slogan.
This slogan is very effective because the party is talking just to you, one by one. The message is powerful because they tell you you can change what usually has been in Spain till this year (the PP-PSOE government) just voting them.
Not as Ciudadano's poster, UP don't idealize their leader on this poster and they don't mention directly their party. I think that is important in a campaign because you have to get into the poeple.

ERABAKI. PARA AVANZAR
This slogan is from the independentist left-wing party Euskal Herria Bildu.
EH Bildu just did the sloganj, they don't have any poster of their party so I can't comment it.
Erabaki (decide) or Para avanzar (to progress) are good slogans because as they are an independentist party, they want to make clear they are going to be in Madrid to talk about Basque Country's situation. Erabaki means we can do something to decide about basque future, I can understand they are talking about a referendum or something similar.
It seems to be effective because their results are higher than other years, I think they make it clear with this slogan and people understood what they wanna do.

RADIO PROGRAMME

WOMEN IN SCIENCE

After interviewing some women and taking photos of them, we created a poster about women and science. The best thing is that when you click a woman's photos, you will be able to hear the interview we did to her.

Some questions we did were:

Did you have difficulties to enter in this degree?
Do you think your teacher helps in the difference between boys and girls?
How many men and women are there in your class?

Enjoy it down here:

HUMAN RIGHTS VIDEO

I am doing a video for a contest about human rights with classmates Izaro, Usoa, Maddi L, Maddi A, June and Felix. We will be working on the equality, freedom, gender and more. I think it is interesting because it is something very important and actual. Plus, I find the prize awesome, it is very important to know from first person the history, and more something something such important as concentration fields.

Our main idea is interviewing people with different characteristics and make them speak about what do they know about human rights and their experience with it; if they have not been respected, if they sometime felt discriminated, etc.

  Here goes our video.

MY EVALUATION

This is the end of the second term and we were ask to do an evaluation about it.

I liked the videos we did on this term because I have had fun doing them and it also was entertaining. Certainly, I think it was too much work and I'd rather have less work because we always had something to work on and we have more things to do. I liked doing the videos and those things but I did not like at all the film analysis.

I learnt a lot about video editing althought it was complicated to me to understand how the video editors work. I consider I worked well and without complaining.

MY FILM: L'UNE CHANTE L'AUTRE PAS

The film L'une chante l'autre pas is directed by Agnès Varda, it is a French film. The protagonists are Pauline, a 17 years old girl, and Suzanne, a 22 years old mother.

The pitch

- Pauline, who is preparing for her 'baccalaureate' goes to a photography exhibition where sad women are represented in photos. She recognizes a model called Suzanne and they become friends again.
- Suzanne, who already has two children, needs money to have an abortion and Pauline helps her.
- Suzanne's partner commits suicide and she goes back with her family.

Every story is the same

1. YOU: Pauline is prepearing her bac and Suzanne is living with his husband and her two kids.
2. NEED: Suzanne is pregnant and she needs money to have an abortion.
3. GO: Pauline is liying to her parents to get some money to Pauline because she can't pay the abortion.
4. SEARCH: Pauline gives money to Suzanne.
5. FIND: Suzanne's abortion goes fine.
6. TAKE: Suzanne's husband commits suicide and she goes to live with her parents. Pauline and Suzanne's friendship is broken.
7. RETURN: after 10 yeras, they find each other in a manifastation and they get back in touch.
8. CHANGE: Suzanne is happy with her new husband and her kids beeing an abortion adviser and Pomme (Pauline) is now a women's rights defender Singer.

I really like a scene: Pauline is waiting to have an abortion in Ámsterdam and she wants to encourage and cheer up the women who are on the waiting room. It reflacts the importance of the sisterhood (sororidad).
During the filme, Pauline, who wanna be a singer, makes meaningful songs, which means they also had worked on the soundtrack. And even if the ryhtms of the songs are almost the same, the lyrics of each song is different and significant.

I think this film has a very strong meaning because it wasn't easy to direct a film beeing a woman on those years and even more if the film was about feminism issues. I recomend everybody to watch this film keeping in mind that it is not a very known film of Agnès Varda and it really worths it.

The first one describes the 21st day December in San Sebastian, when Santo Tomas is celebrated. It appears the fandango, talo, txalaparta, txaranga...
The second video shows all the Christmas. To represent our Christmas we met to have dinner and simulate the New Year's Eve, it was very funny.

THE FILM: THE GENERAL

THE GENERAL, 1926

Unitaed States of America, Georgia (American civil war)
The silent area

Director: Buster Keaton
Co-director: Clyde Bruckman

Cast:
  • Buster keaton - Johnnie Gray (main character railroad engineer)
  • Marion Mack - Annabelle Lee (Johnnie's girl)
  • Glen Cavender - Union Captain Anderson
  • Jim Farley - General Thatcher
  • Frederick Vroom - Confederate General
Music:
Carl Davis (1987)
Robert Israel (1995)

The story:

Johnny and Annabelle had almost a relationship but when the war was coming Johnny was not allowed to enlist so Annabelle didn´t want to hear anything from him untill he enlisted.
One day, Johnny's train was stolen and Annabelle was kidnapped because she was in there. Johnny went after the rivals in comic action scenes. Johnny arrived till the soldiers without being seen and as he Heard some strategies of them he tried to rescue Annabelle and return to Georgia.

Analysis:

Of course my favourite character was the engineer, Buster Keaton, because he was amazing as much as actor and director. The film is pretty short and the main character's interpretation was great so anyone could see this film without big problems.

The story doesn't have any philosophical meaning because Keaton did this film just to have a good time and laugh. I think Keaton did it very well because I enjoyed the film more tan I expected and this is awsome considering the films we have nowadays.

The pitch:

- The war starts and the main character is not allowed to enlist
-  His train is stolen and he goes after it
- He catches them and he tries to return without being seen

The story pattern:

1. YOU: Johnny is a railroad's engineer
2. NEED: seduce Annabelle and get in uniform
3. GO: his train is stolen
4. SEARCH: Johnny steals another train and goes after his train
5. FIND: he finally arrives to his train
6. TAKE: his return home is very difficult with a lot of obstacles
7. RETURN:  he comes back and he is accepted
8. CHANGE: Annabelle falls in love with him and Johnny enlists

THE PICTURE

We have to take a picture of our neighbourhood, Antiguo, appliying the tips we learnt last term. If we like the picture it would be sent to 'Txirain Elkartea' to participate in a contest.

I took this picture just because I was excited by the snow and it turned out to be a very nice photo. The church often is the main protagonist in a photo but thanks to the trees the picture looks more special and original.

OUR PROJECT

1. A ravioli made of surimi with a filling that could be any sauce. We thought about using
different shapes and colours so it would be attractive to children.

2. Two virtues we found in this project would be the capacity we had to create something new
and how easy it was to work on team. We were really helpful between us and the ideas came
very fast.

3. We had a problem with the conservation of the product because we weren't sure if surimi and
pasta could conservate well together. After asking the girls of this enterprise, they told us there
was no problem. Another trouble happened when in the Visual Thinking class we had to
organize very well to make a creative message. We ran out of time, but we got it.

4. To make it real, the company would have to talk and make business with another one and
produce the pasta as Angulas Aguinaga isn't able to cook it.

5. Our proposition is directed to children and teenagers. We followed some of the points like
giving colour to our product and using different shapes to make it more attractive. As they told
us, we also used our imagination and all of us think that the final result is creative.

6. As we said before, we would have to contact with another company so we have the pasta,
the surimi would be cooked in Angulas Aguinaga as it is now.

7. It's innovative, appeals to children and adults too, there's nothing like that nowadays and it's
easy to cook.
